I remember the great thrill I had as a child in holding and petting my first cat, and I still feel the excitement and love today as I tend to my client's pets thirty years later. This incredible sensation helped me develop my innate abilities to easily communicate with cat(s), better understand their needs and fully gain their complete trust.

Astonished returning guardians often inform me that their cat(s) are still waiting by their front door for me at my scheduled visit time long after they have arrived home. Many clients have expressed their cat's first reactions upon their arrival home as "So ... you're back, where's Ronni?"

Amazed clients often express their gratitude over my dedication and how quickly I bonded with their cat(s), including the timid and shy ones. Many letters by satisfied clients reflect my commitment to my profession, reputation, attention to great service and careful detail. After completing a masters degree in Home Economics in l983, I spent 15 years as a registered dietitian/consulting home economist teaching nutrition, home management, accident prevention & safety to individuals and groups.

Ultimately, I wanted more satisfaction than this profession could provide. Then, in l998, I was inspired by my love of cats and pursued my passion by establishing Happy-At-Home Pet Sitting Service which evolved in 2006 into Ronni West's Happy-At-Home Cat Sitting.

Also In 1998, I created and organized a valuable community service by founding the Professional Pet Sitters Network of Santa Cruz County, the first of its kind. This network is dedicated to helping pet guardians to locate pet sitters that would meet their special and individual needs and making referrals at no charge to clients or network pet sitters. In my spare time I have volunteered for animal welfare organizations most recently in the Santa Cruz SPCA and Santa Cruz County Animal Services. I reside in Aptos with my husband, Burt, and our cat, Sheba.

This site is dedicated to our two beloved cats, the greatest love and joy of our lives. Poppy who was almost l6 years passed on April 7th, 2005, and PuddyTat, 15 years old (who was an 11 year old feral stray we took into our home for her remaining four years), passed on February 25th 2006. Both are deeply missed but now sit purring on the Lord's lap.
